They are followed by Hueva with €0.40/m², Almoguera and Miedes de Atienza with €0.60/m² and Matarrubia with €0.70/m². For their part, the most expensive lots are in Guadalajara, Razbona and Pastrana, with a value between €160/m² and €350/m². Climate diversity generates different ecosystems

It has a continental Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers and long, cold winters. Two zones are differentiated, in the regions with higher altitudes, the weather is harsher and rainier (the Serranía, Señorío de Molina-Alto Tajo and Alcarria Alta), while it is milder in the plains (Campiña and Alcarria Baja). This climatic and geographical diversity gives rise to holm oaks, gall oaks, juniper groves, pine forests, oak groves, or beech forests, scattered in its different mountain systems (Central and Iberian). Since approximately 25% of the territory is wooded, with conifers, leafy trees, and bushes (rosemary, rockrose, thyme, lavender, holly, rowan, heather, rockrose, lavender, and sage). On the banks of the rivers, we find ash, elm, alder, birch, and riparian vegetation. The forest territory occupies around 30% of the surface. Some of these places are protected natural spaces and hunting and fishing are practised in the different preserves scattered throughout the territory.

A dynamic economy

The province of Guadalajara belongs to the Autonomous Community of Castilla La Mancha. It has a population of more than 250,000 inhabitants and an extension of more than 12,000 km². Here you can enjoy a good quality of life. Its four counties are: La Alcarria, La Campiña, Las Serranías and Señorío de Molina. Most of the population lives in the capital and its surroundings. In contrast, the more rural areas have a very low population density.

Services is the most important sector in the province, followed by industry, construction, and the primary sector.

Industrial activity is concentrated in the Corredor del Henares (Azuqueca de Henares, Alovera, Cabanillas del Campo, Marchamalo and Guadalajara capital), which in recent years has seen a large increase in the construction of warehouses and logistics platforms. This sector is an important economic engine (Dry Port of Azuqueca de Henares or the City of Transport). In addition, it is the province with the highest volume of exports from Castilla-La Mancha.

Agriculture that tends to the Eco

Farmland occupies about 20% of the area, a very small portion to meet agricultural needs.

Rainfed crops predominate (sunflower, vine, olive, rapeseed, cereals-corn, oats, wheat, barley and rye-, fodder-vetch-, legumes and potatoes). The cultivation of sugar beet has ceased and has opted for dry peas and aromatic plants (lavender, and rosemary). Here 60% of this type of species in the entire Autonomous Community is cultivated. This harvest is later transformed into the industry to generate different products.

The municipalities of the Henares or La Campiña river basin stand out, where small farms (less than 10 hectares) predominate, although there are also large ones (greater than 200 hectares) that occupy more than half of the surface.

Among the organic crops, cereals and olive groves stand out. Organic production is booming (cereals, legumes, nuts-almond, pistachio, and walnut-, saffron, vegetables, oilseeds, fodder, fruit trees, olive groves and fallow land) and is supported by the regional government with aid and subsidies.

Livestock, the backbone of the population

Castilla La-Mancha is the third Autonomous Community with the highest census of sheep and the second in goats in the country. Livestock is also an economic engine in the province of Guadalajara, including sheep, beekeeping (D.O. Miel de la Alcarria), cattle, goats and fighting bulls.

The regional government grants aid and organizes courses to promote innovation and professionalization of the sector and incorporate young farmers into the profession to help create jobs, prevent depopulation, preserve the environment and the rural world.

It is in good industrial health

The province has 30,000,000 m² of industrial land, distributed in a wide network of industrial estates with space available for the location of companies.

This region is close to the main markets, has good infrastructure and an excellent communications network, being in the centre of the country and bordering the capital of Spain. Likewise, the logistics and services industry is consolidated. In addition, investments are made in R&D and the administration offers incentives and aid for new companies.

Some of the most important industrial centres are in Azuqueca de Henares, Sigüenza or Molina de Aragón.

Guadalajara is renewable

Recently, various projects have been proposed for the installation of the field of photovoltaic and wind power plants, such as the one that is intended to be carried out in the surroundings of Trillo and Cifuentes, the largest in Europe. This matter is controversial due to the speculation that is being carried out to obtain land by the electricity companies and the damage that this entails for the farmers, a fact that the environmentalists denounce.

In any case, there are already many renewable energy parks that can be found in the region and that supply a large part of the population.

The ground, is a good opportunity

It has a large area of unbuilt qualified urban land waiting for investors to promote new construction. There are currently several projects under construction, especially in the capital of the province and the cities closest to the Madrid community. This is reflected in the price of housing, which means that a large number of people from Madrid move to live in Guadalajara, where they get much cheaper houses and a better quality of life.

In short, the province of Guadalajara, due to its proximity to Madrid, has very good communication networks and is a pole of attraction for inhabitants and companies. It is a very interesting place to invest in any type of land, due to its great availability, good prices and business opportunities, both in the residential and industrial fields (especially in logistics) and for the development of agricultural or related projects. with renewable energies.
